Southern Region News July 03, 2012 16:11 PM Phaik Kheng Issue: Five Melaka DAP Reps Stage Walkout MELAKA, July 3 (Bernama) -- Five DAP assemblymen including Kota Laksamana representative Betty Chew Gek Cheng, who is also Penang Chief Minister Lim Guang Eng's wife, walked out of the assembly sitting today in protest of a newspaper report and publication of a photo of Guan Eng standing beside a woman taken inside the state assembly building. Prior to the question and answer session, Goh Leong San (Kesidang) holding up the newspaper concerned had queried Speaker Datuk Wira Othman Muhamad why the media was allowed to write a report and take photographs inside the building. Othman had replied that the media could do so including inside the parliament building. Dissatisfied with the response, Goh, Chew, Khoo Poay Tiong (Ayer Keroh), Tey Kok Kiew (Bandar Hilir) and Lim Jak Wong (Bachang) staged the walkout. Yesterday at the sitting during the winding up of the debate condemning the Bersih 3.0 rally, Datuk Gan Tian Loo (BN-Duyong) had asked Chew whether she knew Ng Phaik Kheng (the woman with Guan Eng in the photo) but she declined to respond. -- BERNAMA
