Northern Region News June 15, 2012 17:36 PM Tekun Disburses RM200 MILLION To SMEs In First Five Months LUMUT, June 15 (Bernama) -- Tekun Nasional has disbursed RM200 million in loans to 14,338 small-and-medium scale (SME) entrepreneurs between January and May, says its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Abdul Rahim Hassan. He said the government had allocated RM300 million this year to help more entrepreneurs obtain funding for their businesses. "From 1998 until now, Tekun Nasional had disbursed RM2.11 billion in loans to 215,608 entrepreneurs," he told reporters after a meeting between Tekun funded entrepreneurs and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir. Abdul Rahim also said 896 entrepreneurs in Perak received RM13 million in loans in the first five months of the year. He said Tekun Nasional had recovered RM1.3 billion in repayments out of the RM2.2 billion disbursed thus far. -- BERNAMA
