Central Region News May 30, 2012 17:55 PM LZS To Distribute RM8 Million Tithe Aid For Aidilfitri SHAH ALAM, May 30 (Bernama) -- Starting July, the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) will distribute RM8 million in tithe aid to 22,000 eligible families in Selangor in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration. LZS chief executive officer Mohamed Izam Mohamed Yusof said the aid will be channeled two weeks before Ramadan through 40 mosques in the state, which will help the needy with their preparation. "We have identified those eligible for aid for Aidilfitri and it will be handed out in stages through mosques in each district in Selangor," he told reporters after a business zakat presentation ceremony at the LZS building, here today. He said the LZS expected tithe collections to increase by up to 10 per cent during Ramadan this year like in previous years. -- BERNAMA
