Rahim King's Death A Big Loss To The Nation

KLUANG, May 24 (Bernama) -- The death of Datuk Abdul Rahim Dahalan, who participated in the North Pole parachute expedition in 2007, was a big loss to the nation said Defence Minister's Political Secretary Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya.

Shahrul who attended the burial of Abdul Rahim at the Kampung Tengah Muslim Cemetery here said Abdul Rahim had contributed immensely to the country as a trainer after retiring from the army.

"After serving the army, Abdul Rahim became a trainer at Biro Tata Negara when many agencies, Umno members and athletes had undergone training. He was very strict when on duty but a kind man at heart and helped many people," he said.

Abdul Rahim, who was also known as "Rahim King", once served as special officer to former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He passed away at 5.45pm yesterday due to a heart ailment at his brother's house in Kampung Tengah, Kluang.
