Terengganu Sultan Advises Muslims To Be United
KEMAMAN, May 18 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, has advised Muslims against igniting chaos similar to that in several Middle Eastern countries, saying this was contrary to Islamic teachings.
He expressed disappointment over the action of some Muslims who were bent on toppling others and some who were highly egoistic.
"I want Muslims to be united and cooperative and to love one another," he said at the closing of the Terengganu-level Quran recital here.
Tuanku Mizan said disunity would weaken Muslims and could lead to chaos and riots like what happened in Egypt and Libya.
"I hope the events of the Middle East will not occur in this country. Muslims should live in harmony with one another and if there is any misunderstanding, they should refer to the Quran for guidance," he said.
