Shah Alam Mayor Rides Bicycle To Supervise MBSA Clean Zone Campaign
SHAH ALAM, April 27 (Bernama) -- Shah Alam Mayor Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan yesterday rode a bicycle to visit eleven residential areas in Section 10 and 11 here, which were selected as a designated site for the 2012 Shah Alam City Council's (MBSA) Clean Zone Campaign.
"While exercising, we observed and checked the area before it is launched on Sunday," he told reporters here Friday.
Mohd Jaafar said the 30-minute riding activity, which started around 5 pm yesterday, among others was to do a final check in terms of the maintenance of public infrastructure.
"These include bus stops, road signages and humps and also trash bin,"he said.
Both areas, section 10 and 11 which have 1,149 residential and business premises, were selected in the programme which was launched by the state government in 2009, whereby each local authority in Selangor had to identify an area that has a less than satisfactory level of cleanliness and to turn the area into one that is clean, beautiful and well-maintained in one year's time.
