SMS Slander Trial Postponed As Accused Goes On MC
KUALA TERENGGANU, May 31 (Bernama) -- The trial of former political secretary to former Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh who was charged with making a criminal threat via SMS to three assemblymen in April last year, was postponed as the accused Datuk Dr Ahmad Ramzi Mohamad Zubir was on medical leave.
Since Ahmad Ramzi who had undergone a tonsillitis operation yesterday at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital here would be on medical leave until June 13, the Sessions Court here set August 9 and 10 to hear the case.
Ahmad Ramzi was charged on three counts of making criminal intimidation by threatening the lives of Paka assemblyman Mohd Ariffin Abdullah, Permaisuri assemblyman Abdul Halim Jusoh and Ajil assemblyman Datuk Rosol Wahid with intention of creating fear in them at E726 Jalan Kubang Parit, Kampung Kubang Parit between 11.21am and 11.25am on April 13.
He is also charged with slandering Wan Ahamad Wan Muda, the former private secretary to Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said by posting a SMS threat on the lives of the three assemblymen on the website http://ownsmsbiz.com/v1 by using a mobile phone number 019-9158369 owned by Wan Ahamad at the same place between 11.21am and 11.25am the same day.
