KANGAR, May 17 (Bernama) -- Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar heads a list of 316 recipients of awards, medals and honours in conjunction with the 69th birthday of the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.
Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu said Ismail would receive the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (SPMP), which carries the title Datuk Seri at an investiture ceremony at Istana Anak Bukit here Thursday.
Also receiving the same award are former chief justice Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah and Public Works Department director-general Datuk Mohd Noor Yaakob.
Joint Task Force 2 commander (Kukusan Tawau Camp, Sabah) Brig-Gen Mohd Ezam Wan Chik is the sole recipient of the Darjah Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perlis (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk.
Five people will be conferred the Darjah Dato' Panglima Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DPSJ), which carries the title Datuk, Md Isa told reporters here.
They are the Raja of Perlis's niece, Datin Tengku Shireen Tengku Sulaiman, former Bakat Udara chairman Tengku Puan Sri Elena Tengku Kamarul Zaman, Quantum-Ed Sdn Bhd director Tengku Datin Seri Zalila Tengku Kamarulzaman, Kuala Lumpur Hospital oral surgeon Dr Wan Mahadzir Wan Mustafa and Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (Kangar) director Dr Ahmad Nordin Mohd Jais.
Former Perlis mufti Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin is the sole recipient of the Dato' Bergelar award, which carries the title Datuk Arif Perkasa.
Md Isa said seven people would receive the Setia Mahkota Perlis (SMP), 18 (Seri Sirajuddin Perlis or SSP), 27 (Ahli Mahkota Perlis or AMP), 63 (Pingat Mahkota Perlis or PMP), 107 (Pingat Jasa Kebaktian or PJK), 66 (Pingat Jasa Baik or PJB) and 18 (Pingat Perkhidmatan Lama or PPL).
