Call On JASA Retirees To Help Officers In Service To Face General Election
KUALA TERENGGANU, April 30 (Bernama) -- In a bid to strengthen the government's agendas in view of the upcoming 13th general election, Department of Special Affairs (JASA) retirees have been asked to use their expertise to help officers in service to convince the people to support the government.
JASA director-general Datuk Fuad Hassan said the involvement of JASA retirees was needed because they had all the expertise and skills, especially in terms of talks and influences.
"Their experiences should be appreciated and it is hoped that they can also help us in our Friendly Neighbour programme, 'Bongkar' talks and 'Ops Jelas' programme," he told reporters after meeting with 400 Terengganu JASA officers here.
When asked about JASA's preparation to face the next general election, Fuad said the department was fully prepared with 1,300 JASA staff nationwide and sufficient number of 'Muzakkir' (influential volunteers) ready to be deployed.
"We have about 500 volunteers in every state and they are specifically assigned to reach out to the people under the Friendly Neighbour programme," he added.
